Ma-tsu Memorial
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

Neptune is our male Orthriophis taeniurus ssp formerly Elaphe taeniura ssp, whom we also call "The Dragon". Named for the Roman version of Poseidon, god of the sea, he's got a temperment to match! Though his previous owner has assured that he was as sweet as Ma-tsu when first acquired, he wasn't handled much and was kept in the same cage as she was for a very long time. He grew unused to handling and stressed by having to share a cage, so he's gotten to the point where he's rather shy and aggressive.
Neptune now has his own private suite and I'm working with him to calm him down about handling and basic husbandry. He's a textbook example of why regular handling and seperate enclosures are important. Ma-tsu had a more assertive personality than he does, and though it may have looked cute when they were curled up together she was really dominating him by sitting on him and competing for the 'best' spots. Neptune is much more relaxed in his own enclosure, and though he'll never be as outgoing as Ma-tsu he's a gorgeous boy who deserves a lot of TLC.
This beautiful boy has a more distinct pattern and paler coloration than The Diva, more teal/yellow to her denim blue/cream.
Gomez is our sweet male normal Ball Python (Python regius) produced by Glass Reptiles hatched on 5/14/05. We adore this little guy, and we definitely plan to acquire more ball pythons in the future! Very cute charming snakes, we love Gomez to bits. Healthy little piggie too! Someday, we'll get him a Morticia. ;) I'd really like to work with Mojaves eventually. These darlings are hard to resist, and one of my favorite snakes. Gomez is my sweet little charmer of a lap snake.
Falkor is our young Miami/Normal phase Corn Snake (Pantherophis -or Elaphe- guttatus) from SMR. Nice healthy little piggie! Rather shy but curious and calm when we pick him up. It was very hard to pick out a color morph, there's so many beautiful options! We finally decided on a Miami because I wanted a more earthy colored snake but still with the bright red and black borders. He's growing into quite a handsome fellow too!
Irwin is our little Rubber Boa (Charina bottae) from SMR. Sweet docile little guy! Named in honor and memory of the late great Steve Irwin who was all about educating people on weird "scary" creatures and appreciating all animals... even and especially the not so very fancy ones like this little sweetie. He was born in March of 2006, and I look forward to watching him darken into a nice deep green as he gets older.
Snakes are an addictive lot, and we do have plans to keep more species as well as -naturally- add more VBBs to our collection. Blue Beauties are my passion, and that's where the focus is. I want a pair of Anery Beauties too! This is a little list of some of the other planned acquisitions for the future, be they for breeding projects or just as a lone pet. There's more snakes than are on the list that I'm tempted by, and I'm only listing those we have definite plans for.
0.0.1 Gopher Snake (Pituophis melanoleuces)
1.1.0 Trinket Snakes (Coelognathus helena formerly Elaphe helena)
1.1.0 Mojave Ball Pythons (Python regius)
1.1.0 Japanese Ratsnakes (Elaphe climacophora)
In addition to our snakes, we also keep house rabbits and a lovely little Jeweled Lacerta named Dana.
