Matsu Memorial

matsubanner (10K)Ma-tsu was our first female Elaphe taeniura ssp, the sweet amazing Blue Beauty who stole my heart and inspired Blue Gorgon. This girl, named after the sea goddess, was the epideme of Blue Beauty. She was gorgeous; pale cream underbelly and striping along a lovely denim blue and a lovely personality to match. Very friendly tame and curious, she was good with people and touched many hearts both in person and via the internet. She helped people get over their irrational fears of snakes and acknowledge them not as monsters but beautiful and surreal wonders of nature.

Ma-tsu was charming and gorgeous; a muse, mascot and inspiration in so many ways. She affected my art, my goals, my passions, my life. This sweet outgoing animal had a huge impact on me, and I will never forget her. Ma-tsu was truly a joy to behold and handle to everyone who met her. I feel blessed to have had her be a part of my life.

March 22nd, 2009, she passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. She'd been struggling with health problems for some time and just couldn't seem to bounce back despite all our efforts. Ma-tsu is deeply missed, and will forever be the heart and soul of Blue Gorgon.
