Terms & Pricing

First and foremost in order to buy anything from Blue Gorgon outside of our Art Shop you must contact me directly but please read through this page before you do. Be it artwork or a hatchling Beauty, I handle everything personally and on a case by case basis.

Payment must be in full before delivery, and prices do not include shipping. We accept Paypal (preferred), check (delivery held until it clears with the bank), or money order. Prices can change without notice, but the prices listed are applicable the day you order. All orders are on a first come, first serve basis, so patience is appreciated.

All Blue Gorgon artwork is copyrighted to Kindred Spirit Publications unless you are purchasing usage rights for a custom piece such as a logo, but I retain the right to be credited and to use the image in my portfolio and gallery. I do give permission to use images from this site (with the exception of commissions) as links to Blue Gorgon as well as personal, noncommercial icons and avatars so long as credit is given.

For commission pieces the subjects are limited to snakes, fantasy, mythology, monsters, and other animals and anthropomorphic creatures. I don't sell fanart of copyrighted characters for legal reasons. I also reserve the right to turn down a commission because of subject matter or being too backed up, but as always please contact me and ask. Never hurts to check, I'll see what I can do for you. :)

How the process works is you give me a description of what you want as detailed as possible, and I will sketch a very rough concept thumbnail, possibly several. I e-mail the rough sketch(es) to you for approval/suggestions before I move up to a more detailed version. Once I've moved on from the sketch, the window for revisions has closed. Here is the basic outline for commission pricing. Two or more subjects refers to additional characters aside from the assumed one.

Keep in mind these are only estimates, and the actual price will depend on what you want and how complex it is.

I do require a nonrefundable deposit of 1/3rd the agreed price because I've had my share of abandoned commissions in the past. In the event of an abandoned commission, I reserve all rights to the image and may continue with the piece, however I wish, as well as sell prints. Paid in full commission pieces are not sold as prints without the permission of the client, however, I always reserve the right to include the piece in my portfolio gallery as an example of my work.

If you change your mind or decide not to continue with a commission after discussing ideas with me, please let me know! I won't be offended and I completely understand the need to go with an artist that best suits your needs and style. But please understand that I need closure, and to know that I shouldn't be waiting to hear back from you. Communication and honesty go a long way, don't be afraid to let me know what's going on. :)

I also eagerly request that you send pics of commissions that you've had tattooed. Tattooing is the highest form of flattery for an artist, imho, and I love to see them! I also realize that you still have to pay another artist to actually give you the ink, so if your commission is purely for the purpose of a personal tattoo, talk to me about a possible discount.

Our current price for hatchling snakes is $150 each before shipping. This price is subject to change at any time.

Blue Gorgon guarantees that our snakes are honestly represented, have fed at least three times on appropriately sized frozen/thawed prey before shipping, and are parasite free. As a small time breeder, I give each of these snakes my personal attention and care. The wellbeing of these lovely creatures is my top priority, and I will delay shipping in dangerous weather and/or until you are prepared to receive them (i.e. have the enclosure prepared and are sure you will be home when the baby arrives etc).

I do accept pre-orders, but not until I have an egg count. When we have an incubating clutch, a notice will be posted on the "Available" page

If for whatever reason you're unsatisfied with the little bundle of joy, we do offer a full refund so long as you contact me about it within 48 hours of delivery and we'll make arrangements to ship the snake back to Blue Gorgon. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs. The animals will be guaranteed to arrive only if the first delivery attempt is successful and if the customer directly receives the package. Proof of d.o.a. is required.

Be aware that some jurisdictions may have regulations pertaining to the importation of snakes. It is up to you to be aware of any regulations pertaining to this in your area. Blue Gorgon will not assume responsibility if your order violates local law.

All orders are shipped via door-to-door service via Fed Ex Priority Overnight within the U.S. only. Sorry, we do not currently do international shipments. The overnight service will be prepaid prior to shipping.
